Through clear explanations, video analysis and adaptable resources, each course provides practical ideas that coaches can integrate into their own game model.
Bakary Soumahoro
A very good course, clearly explained and supported by video examples. Charles is available to answer questions and provide further detail when required.
Thank you. I will definitely be back for more courses.
Valentin Caillaux
Relevant and effective content.
Working within a departmental rugby committee while also coaching in Fédérale 1, Charles’s courses have helped me continue developing as a coach and improve my understanding and analysis of the game.
Thank you again, Charles. I strongly recommend Up Rugby’s courses to coaches at every level, from professional and national divisions to regional rugby.
Adrien Renault
An excellent course.
We already had some general, experience-based ideas about attacking structures, particularly the 1-3-3-1. However, the depth and precision of the analysis enabled us to improve both our understanding and the accuracy of our approach.
The course also provides excellent tools, including video analysis and PowerPoint presentations, for both coaches and players. I highly recommend it. Well done, Charles!

- Module 1: Types of restardUnderstanding attacking restarts is essential in rugby. They form the basis of decision-making within any attacking system, whether it is the 1-3-3-1 or another structure.4
- Module 2: Pod DistributionLearn how to organise our distribution across the field from set pieces in different areas, so we can quickly get back into our attacking shape.4
- Module 3: Pod RotationRotating the two pods in the 1-3-3-1 system is essential to threaten the full width of the pitch. The pitch is divided into three zones, and the pods rotate according to the zone in which the point of contact is located and the position of the other pod.1
- Module 4: RunnerForwards who think they’re backs =)4
- Module 5: Pod 10The most heavily involved pod in the system. Its players expend a great deal of energy in the physical battle, but must remain composed enough to read the game and execute their skills with a high level of accuracy.5
- Module 6: Pod 12How to use your players effectively in the middle of the pitch.4
- Module 7: The BacksAnd we finish with the backs, who will need to be highly effective at… launching attacks from scrums!2
